Hello Backpacker is a website that aims to be the number one Internet resource for backpackers.
We provide services that we ourselves - as travellers - miss on the web.
Who is behind this website?
This website is run by two backpackers with two things in common:
A passion for independent travel and a bad sense of humour.
Why do you do this?
We have traveled quite a bit and made loads of stupid mistakes. We have also met a lot of wonderful
people which have helped us and enriched our lives. We figured why not share some of our experiences
with others. Perhaps someone out there reading our website is prevented from doing the exactly same
stupidities that we've done. We also want to create bridges between cultures to bring people closer to
each other.
How much does it cost?
This service is run for free. You don't have to pay for any of our services.
How do you mean "free"? What's the catch?
Hello Backpacker is an ad-supported web site. By selling ads to advertisers who want
to get in contact with backpackers we can keep enhancing the content. We encourage you
to explore our web site since every page you visit allows to build even better services.
So, no need to bring up your credit card. Instead we ask you for your time and attention.
Thank you!
How do I participate and send my tips, suggestions and other feedback?
Doesn't encouraging people to travel endanger the environment?
Air travel produces quite a bit of pollution. We have a section in
The Backpacker's Toolbox dealing with how to minimize your environmental impact.
We also encourage our visitors to donate to charities such as
Climate Care or the World Wildlife Foundation
to help save our planet.
I'm interested in writing an article about Hello Backbacker, who can I contact?
